We left our muddy site about 9:00 this morning. Mud may be the typical from now on though.
We drove about 7 hours with the typical terrain of up and down hills through the forested and sparsely populated areas along the Alcan Highway. Also typical, we had rain all day again today. There is quite a bit of traffic the whole way, mostly campers from the States. There is almost an even distribution of big motor driven RVs and trucks pulling 5th wheels or trailers. About every 10 to 20 miles or so, there are large pull-outs with bear proof garbage cans. Since we drag our own bathroom along behind us, we are able to use these pull outs, which is great because the rest areas and towns are few and far between. We are also beginning to see some of the same people along the way and at the campgrounds. Everyone is very friendly and most of us have the same destination planned.
This campground has the gravel sites and roads, but it is not as muddy as yesterday’s despite all the rain today. We didn’t even see any wildlife on today’s drive so we have no pictures to post.
