Today was our day to see what we could of Glacier. We started out about 9:30 by taking a road that was north of St Mary which went into the park to “Many Glacier”. I think the road was about 14 miles into the mountains along a stream and than a lake. We had hoped to see some wild life along the road, but that did not work out. But, still a pretty drive with lots of stopping to look at the scenery.
After coming back out from Many Glacier, we headed south to take the “Going To The Sun Road”. At this point the road is only open 13 miles into the park from the east side. They are still removing snow and doing road repair. We still had a lot of pretty scenery on the ride in and out along St. Mary Lake.
We did manage to see a Black Bear and a deer. The Black bear was just along the road and for the deer it was just a face to face encounter. I had taken a path down from a bridge to take a picture of a stream and since the path went under the bridge and up the other side I told Karen I’d come back up that way. When I went under the bridge I came face to face with a deer.
We have added a picture of our sight-seeing dog and one of the “find the dog in the snow” pictures.
We came back to our WIND rocked RV for the afternoon and have spent time just relaxing and getting ready to head to Banff tomorrow morning. From what we have read, there will probably not be much Wi-Fi availability for several days, so we may not be posting but sporadically
